KeyBank Broadway Series with Betty Buckley

The KeyBank Broadway Series 2018-2019 season includes the first nationwide tour of this Tony Award-winning musical revival of Hello, Dolly!

What an honour to perform with all the famous Broadway veteran Scott Rudin to start this Tony Award-winning musical for the street."

Tony Award-winning actress Betty Buckley was tapped to direct the nationwide tour of the most recent extravagant Broadway production of "Hello, Dolly!" A gig she calls "such a present."

"I am so pleased to take this kind of joyful series around America. "It is similar to an antidote."

Buckley will star as matchmaker and schemer Dolly Levi from the creation that won four Tony awards this past year, including best revival on Broadway and best actress in a musical for Bette Midler, who played Levi.

Buckley watched the series using Midler this winter and "was in rapture," sitting at the next row and yelling. The creation was "among the most joyous parts of musical theater I've ever experienced."

"Bette Midler was totally enjoy a ice cream sundae. You simply wanted to scoop her up," Buckley explained. Producer Scott Rudin achieved and she did not need much persuading, mentioning the throw, production values and costume designs. "I am such a lover of the creation and I am such a fan of Bette's it never happened to me it had been something I'd be encouraged to perform."

It'll have long stops in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Total tour cities and dates will be announced soon, as will the rest of the cast. Bernadette Peters has inherited the Broadway part of Levi.

She talked while on the way to New Orleans to take the next season of this AMC series "Preacher," playing with Dominic Cooper's grandma.
